Valentine’s Day is the most popular day of the year to propose. It is a day that you know you are already spending together, and that already has romance in the air. If you’re planning a Valentine’s Day proposal, make it a memorable one with these ideas below.
Recreate your first date
Perhaps it was a picnic at the beach, or dinner and a movie. There is something magical about recreating a moment that you both hold in such fond memories. Make a reservation for the same restaurant (even try to get the same table!), play the same music in the car, even wear a similar outfit! Something that will show your soon-to-be-fiancé how much effort you have put into creating this special moment.
Take him/her to their favourite location
Whether it be a country, city, or even a small lake close to your house, your significant other is bound to have a favourite spot they like to go. Give them a reason to love this location even more by creating an extra special memory there. Lay down rose petals on the ground or hire an acoustic guitarist to help make your moment even more special.
An intimate home proposal
Want the moment to be just between you and your partner? Create a romantic proposal setting in your home. Lay down rose petals and candles for her to walk through the door to. Play their favourite music to set the mood. Set up a candlelit dinner, with your soon-to-be-fiancé's favourite meal. The moment will be an incredible one you can share with just the two of you.
A day of surprises
Pamper your partner all day leading up to the big moment with a day of surprises. Start of with a note on their bedside table as they wake up, giving them a voucher to eat breakfast at their favourite café. Upon finishing their meal, have the waiter gift your partner with a voucher to have their nails done (after all, everyone wants a fresh manicure in their first ring photo!). Then have the nail technician gift them with a voucher to have their hair done at their go-to hair salon. Once that is completed, call your partner to ask them to come home, have a new outfit laid out on their bed to wear to dinner. Your partner will look and feel their best after a day of pampering, and you will top it off with an incredible proposal!
Make a photo album of your relationship, with pictures of the two of you during important moments, and on the second to last page write "what will the future bring?" and on the last page write "how about marriage?"
Get a photo of it!
Go to a special spot and have a passerby take a picture of you and your significant other. When they count down 3, 2, 1, to take the picture, drop down on your knee and pop the question. They’ll never see it coming, and you’ll most likely have crowds to congratulate you afterwards! Or if you're too shy to pop the question in such a public setting, take your partner to a photobooth and pull out the ring as the photos are being taken. We guarantee their reaction will have you smiling about the memory for years to come!
Include your loved ones
If you are both close with your family and friends, let them know in advance when you are going to pop the big question. Organise for a big dinner to celebrate straight after, or even have them witness the proposal! We guarantee it will keep the excitement going for weeks to come for everyone!
However you decide to propose this Valentine's Day, we wish you all the best of luck!
