December Birthstone is the incredible and Rare Tanzanite!

Now 2000 times more rare than Diamonds, Tanzanite is a bewitching stone found only in a 4km strip of land in Northern Tanzania.

The story goes that lightning struck the grassland in Tanzania, causing a wildfire, which turned the muddy brown Zoisite crystals on the ground to a shocking and vivid violet blue, which is how the stone now known as Tanzanite was founded!  

With a story as magical as that, it is hard to believe Tanzanite is real at all, but its ultraviolet colouring and amazing sparkle have caught the eye of many designers over the recent years- ours included!
